Pale Blue Eyes strikes us as one of the most beautiful love songs written by Lou.
Dedicated to his first love Shelley Albin-at the time married to another man and with whom Reed engaged in an affair-"Pale blue eyes" is dreamy, tender, bitter, ironic.
Although the pupils of Albin's eyes were actually hazel in color, Lou opted to sing the light blue color ("pale blue") because it sounded better.

In order to get Cesare Basile to sing in a key in which he could best express himself, we started listening to a couple of his songs: we couldn't resist the temptation not to press the "Pause" button, so beautiful and sensible did every element of his productions sound to us.
Every word and every sound is sharp to the point.
We kept the structure of the original unaltered by thinking of our version in three different "rooms of sound"; It starts with the first more intimate one until it reaches the central crescendo that flows into the final rarefaction.
